Since his freshman year, Dustin has been a star running back for the Tonopah Muckers, a team deeply rooted in family and community tradition. With 160 career touchdowns and over 1,121 points scored in just 40 games, Dustin has rewritten the record books, becoming the first player in Nevada history to score over 1,000 points in a career and setting a new national record for points in 8-man football.
“It’s amazing to put my school on the map,” Dustin shared. “We’re super run-heavy, but we have the people up front to make it happen. I couldn’t do it without them.”
His father, Duffy Otteson, the current head coach and part of a legacy of football coaching in their family, adds, “Football runs deep in the Otteson family and Tonopah. Dustin’s dedication both on the field and now as a JV coach keeps that tradition alive and strong.”
