Robin Tomita, MD

Robin Y. Tomita, MD is board-certified in Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation and Electrodiagnostic Medicine. He specializes in diagnosing and managing a wide range of neuromuscular conditions with a focus on improving patient function and quality of life. Dr. Tomita is highly proficient in electrodiagnostic testing (EMG), which plays a key role in clarifying complex neuromuscular diagnoses and guiding appropriate, patient-centered care.

Dr. Tomita earned his medical degree from Hahnemann University in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania in 1995. He completed his internship and residency training in Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation at The Ohio State University from 1996 to 1999.

Dr. Tomita chose the field of Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation because it allows him to care for the whole patient—not just a specific condition or body part. He emphasizes conservative, non-surgical treatment approaches and believes in optimizing each patient’s quality of life through thoughtful, individualized care.

He has been serving the Northern Nevada community since 1999, including 22 years with Tahoe Fracture Orthopedic Clinic, and currently sees patients at the Carson City Medical Parkway office.

Outside of his medical practice, Dr. Tomita enjoys traveling and spending time with his wife and three children. A devoted Disney fan, he and his family often visit theme parks together. He also values a healthy lifestyle, enjoys regular exercise, and is an enthusiastic supporter of his favorite hometown sports teams from Los Angeles.
