Hand Therapist, Reno, Carson City

Nicholas Stevens, OTD, is an occupational therapist specializing in hand therapy, with a patient-centered approach focused on helping individuals restore upper-extremity function and return to the activities and occupations they enjoy.

Nicholas earned his Bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology from the University of Nevada, Reno, before completing his Doctorate of Occupational Therapy at Touro University Nevada. He is a Certified KinesioTaping Practitioner (CKTP)and plans to pursue his Certified Hand Therapist (CHT) credentials when eligible.

After completing his education, Nicholas began his occupational therapy career in Hand Therapy in Princeton, New Jersey. His experience includes providing evidence-based treatment and fabricating custom orthotics for patients across multiple clinics. He enjoys collaborating with upper-extremity physicians and other members of the healthcare team to develop individualized treatment plans that help patients return to their desired activities and improve their quality of life.

Nicholas was drawn to hand therapy because of his own experiences with upper-extremity injuries, including a broken collarbone and multiple finger injuries. These experiences gave him an appreciation for how important upper-extremity function is in everyday life and inspired him to help others overcome orthopedic challenges.

Outside of work, Nicholas enjoys indoor and outdoor rock climbing, particularly in the Tahoe and Bishop areas, as well as crocheting blankets and stuffed animals for friends and family. He also enjoys spending time with his 1.5-year-old corgi, Wally, who is a big fan of tummy rubs, fetch, and plenty of treats.
