Hand Therapist, Reno
Miriam “Monte” Morris is an occupational therapist and Certified Hand Therapist. She takes a holistic, patient-centered approach to care, considering the connection between the mind, body, and spirit while looking beyond the immediate area of injury to provide a more comprehensive evaluation and treatment plan.
Monte earned her Bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology from Louisiana State University (LSU) before completing her Master’s degree in Occupational Therapy at LSU Health Sciences Center in New Orleans. She started her career in New Orleans in a level 1 trauma center before relocating to Scottsdale in 2019. Patients with a variety of conditions: post operative, repetitive strain, neurological, and trauma.
Her approach to hand therapy emphasizes hands-on manual treatment and a thorough assessment of the entire body. She is also a certified Yoga, Pilates, and Meditation instructor, incorporating these practices into her approach when appropriate to support overall wellness and recovery.
Monte was inspired to pursue a career as at occupational therapist through her godfather, who lost the use of his left arm due to childhood cancer. Watching his independence, resilience, and adaptability throughout his life inspired her to help others overcome physical challenges and maintain their independence.
Outside of work, Monte enjoys spending time with her husband and young children, playing tennis, reading, traveling, exercising, and hiking. She is proudly from Louisiana and loves cheering on the New Orleans Saints and LSU Tigers, cooking and enjoying Cajun food, and spending time with family and friends. Fun fact: she is also an Italian citizen.
