
Ty Windfeldt, MBA
Ty Windfeldt serves as Chief Executive Officer for Swift Institute. In his role, he oversees the day-to-day practice operations with an emphasis on creating greater efficiencies in care delivery and improved quality. Ty has more than 25 years of experience in healthcare leadership, including hospital, provider, and insurance experience. He has committed his entire career to improving healthcare for all Nevada citizens. Focusing on the patient experience, Ty is passionate about wellness and overall health and wellbeing. He has received several local business and civic recognition awards and serves on multiple boards, including Boys and Girls Club of Truckee Meadows and the University of Nevada Foundation.

James J. Lynch, MD, FACS, FAANS
Dr. James Lynch is the President of Swift Institute — a multidisciplinary private practice focused on providing value-based specialty care and services for its patients. In addition to serving as President, he maintains a busy spine neurosurgery practice focused on minimally invasive spine techniques. Dr. Lynch is a board-certified spinal neurosurgeon with 30 years of experience, who specializes in complex spine surgery, cervical disorders, degenerative spine, spinal deformities, trauma, tumor infection and minimally invasive spine surgery. He was the first neurosurgeon in Reno to perform MIS TLIF and MAS PLIF procedures as well as the first to perform both cervical and lumbar artificial disc replacements. Dr. Lynch performs over 500 spine surgeries per year in both hospital and outpatient center settings. He is recognized as an expert in cervical spine disorders and performs over 200 cervical spine fusions a year. Dr. Lynch founded Spine Nevada in 2004. In 2022, Nevada’s top specialty practices, Spine Nevada and Tahoe Fracture, teamed up to provide the highest level of patient-centered specialty spine and orthopedic care. The practice became known as Swift Institute and has grown to be one of Nevada’s most respected orthopedic and spine neurosurgery practices.

Jake Hargis, MPH
Jake Hargis is a Northern Nevada native who attended the University of Nevada Reno and graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Health Ecology. He completed a Master of Public Health in Public Health Practice from the University of Nevada Reno. Since joining the team in 2017, Jake has been one of the driving forces behind the company’s strategic and operational success.
Prior to his current role as Chief Operations Officer, Jake served as Vice President of Operations and Director of Clinical and Ancillary Operations with Spine Nevada. Other professional experience includes acting as Regional Director of Practice Management and business operations consultant. During this period, Jake directly oversaw clinical and business operations, business optimizations, corporate financial analysis and planning, and strategic management and direction of eight specialty physicians’ practices while also providing business operation and optimization consulting for multiple other private practice physician groups. Jake provides strong leadership and accountability for the operational excellence of our business through consistent implementation of the tools and processes necessary to ensure operational efficiency and effectiveness.

Emil Yankov, MBA
Emil Yankov serves as the Vice President of Clinical Operations for Swift Institute. Within his role, Emil is actively involved in leadership of clinical support staff and ensuring safety of the healthcare facilities, in addition to other responsibilities. He’s a highly skilled professional with a focus on data and quality outcomes. Emil has over 10 years of experience in demonstrating consistent achievement of financial objectives and is also experienced in implementing operational policy and procedures. Furthermore, he has extensive knowledge in maximization of workforce productivity and strategic planning. Emil is viewed as an excellent team builder, communicator and servant leader with a focus on improving overall company efficiency in order to drive revenue and improve patient and provider relations. Emil earned his Bachelor of Science in Biology at the University of Nevada, Reno. He completed his Masters of Business Administration from Grand Canyon University.

Rajen Desai
Rajen Desai serves as the Director of Clinical Operations for Swift Institute. Rajen is a Northern Nevada native who attended the University of Nevada Reno and graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Health Ecology. He is currently completing his Masters in Business Administration in Healthcare Management.
Prior to his role as Director of Clinical Operations, Rajen served as a Chief Operating Officer for a private practice. Rajen has over 15 years of experience in business operations, 10 of those in various specialty practices. During this period, Rajen created a scalable operational structure by incorporating best-in-class technology and systems solutions in the following areas: regulatory compliance, data management, leadership, and financial management and improving provider relations.

Molly Caneday, MBA
Molly Caneday, MBA serves as the Director of Integrated Marketing for Swift Institute. Molly is responsible for overseeing and creating strategies and content for marketing, advertising and communications, including websites, print collateral, email, social media, and other platforms. She plays a key role in the company’s online presence, using best practices in content development, site design, search engine optimization, and web analytics.
Molly collaborates with others to ensure that marketing and messaging in print and digital advertisements and communications are impactful and educational for B2B & B2C audiences. Prior to joining the team, Molly worked for Prizm Development, a nationally recognized developer of spine centers. While at Prizm, her responsibilities included referral development, marketing and recruitment efforts with private practice specialty groups and hospital spine, orthopedic and neurosurgery service lines. Molly completed her bachelors degree with honors in Marketing at Oklahoma State University and earned an MBA at Baylor University.

Alex Waller, MHI
Alex Waller is responsible for business development, physician relations, and community outreach for Swift Institute. He is an experienced and energetic professional with expertise in establishing and maintaining strong relationships. Alex is skilled at anticipating problems and enjoys collaborating with internal and external partners to develop prompt solutions and improve referral processes. He is viewed as a subject matter expert in spine, neurosurgery, orthopedics, and radiology. Prior to joining the team, Alex worked with Reno Cyberknife as a physician liaison and Sutter Health in the business development department. Alex earned his Bachelor of Science in Health Ecology at the University of Nevada, Reno. He completed a Masters of Healthcare Innovation at Arizona State University.

Bill Daley
Bill Daley is a seasoned professional with a background in healthcare and business management. He currently serves as the Director of Business Development at Swift Institute, where he has been responsible for driving growth and identifying new opportunities for the organization. Prior to this role, Bill worked as a Physician Liaison at Spine Nevada Minimally Invasive Spine Institute, where he cultivated relationships with key stakeholders in the healthcare industry. Bill has also held leadership positions at Visiting Nurse & Hospice Care, AccentCare, and Apria Healthcare. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration and Management from the University of Redlands. Bill is skilled in business development, healthcare management, and logistics management. In his free time, Bill enjoys road cycling, mountain biking, and running.

Stefan V. Franciosa, DO, MBA
Dr. Stefan Franciosa serves as the director of the radiology department for Swift Institute. He joined the team in 2016. Dr. Franciosa is board-certified and fellowship-trained in Interventional Radiology. In addition, he is board-certified in Diagnostic Radiology. Dr. Franciosa is experienced in diagnosing and treating a wide range of spine and pain conditions. Dr. Franciosa works with the other specialty trained physicians in providing comprehensive and innovative care –all with the goal of helping patients return to active lifestyles. He is experienced in minimally invasive interventional procedures such as epidural spine injections, facet injections, nerve blocks and radiofrequency ablation.
Dr. Franciosa has extensive interest in the area of both health care economics and quality issues in the delivery of medical services. In pursuit of these interests, Dr. Franciosa engaged in a dual degree program at Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine (PCOM) attending medical school during the day and graduate business school in the evenings. He was awarded a Masters Degree in Business Administration.

Lonna Scott
Lonna Scott serves as Business Office Manager and oversees the scheduling departments and electronic medical records for Swift Institute. A native of Nevada, she joined the team in 2016. As a critical link between administrative and clinical operations, she provides professionalism as a skilled leader. Lonna thrives under pressure and is an experienced problem solver. With previous experience in office management in private practice, she is familiar with process improvement, conflict resolution, and agenda algorithms. Lonna naturally grew into leadership roles through hard work and an ability to outperform expectations. Currently working on her Bachelor of Science in Business Management, she will continue to expand her knowledge base and excel in the workforce.
