Abby Friesen, PT

Physical Therapist

Abby Friesen, PT, is a dedicated Physical Therapist specializing in outpatient care with a strong passion for sports rehabilitation. She earned her Doctorate of Physical Therapy from Southwest Baptist University in Bolivar, Missouri, and brings over four years of outpatient clinical experience to her role at the Sportsdome. During her time in college, Abby was also a competitive athlete, participating in both track and cross country, further strengthening her connection to sports performance and recovery.

Abby is committed to delivering compassionate, patient-centered care, focusing on helping individuals restore function and maximize their quality of life. Her approach emphasizes movement as a key to engaging fully with the world, tailoring each treatment plan to meet the unique needs and goals of her patients.

Her professional achievements include being published in the Journal of Geriatrics for her research on perturbation-based balance training in the elderly, as well as being recognized in 2025 by Best in Medicine as one of the region’s Top Physical Therapists.

Inspired by her mother, also a physical therapist, and her own experiences as a patient recovering from sports injuries—including an ACL tear—Abby developed a deep appreciation for the impact of physical therapy. This personal perspective continues to shape her empathetic and motivating approach to care.

Outside of the clinic, Abby enjoys staying active through running, hiking, rock climbing, skiing, and surfing, as well as spending time reading. Originally from Kansas City, she is a devoted fan of its sports teams and its renowned barbecue.
