Melissa joined the Swift Institute Physical Therapy team in 2025, bringing extensive orthopedic expertise and a deep passion for helping patients achieve functional recovery. A Northern Nevada native, Melissa always knew she wanted to launch her physical therapy career in Reno.
She earned her bachelor’s degree in Community Health Sciences in 2013 and went on to complete her Doctorate of Physical Therapy at Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center in Lubbock, TX, in 2017. In 2019, she completed a Physical Therapist Orthopedic Residency through Evidence in Motion, further refining her clinical skills and advancing her expertise in orthopedic care.
Melissa is certified in a variety of specialized techniques, including Trigger Point Dry Needling, Instrument Assisted Soft Tissue Mobilization, Myofascial Decompression (cupping), Kinesiotaping, TMJ treatment, and Myofascial Manipulation. She combines these skills with a hands-on, patient-centered approach, blending manual therapy with individualized exercise programs to help patients reach their goals and achieve long-term, functional recovery.
Outside of the clinic, Melissa enjoys spending quality time with her family and friends. She stays active through hiking, camping, and soccer, and loves traveling, crafting, and playing with her child and dog.
