Kimberly Koerner, APRN practices at our Reno Copperfield, Sparks, and Carson City Medical Parkway locations.
Kimberly has worked as an orthopaedic nurse practitioner in Reno since 2009. She is experienced in diagnosing and treating orthopedic conditions and osteoporosis. Kimberly is passionate about helping patients achieve their health goals and improve their quality of life. Nurse practitioners (NPs) evaluate patients by examining medical histories; performing physical exams; and sending orders for diagnostic tests. In diagnosing patients, nurse practitioners give particular attention to patient-specific risk factors along with the unique needs of patients and their families. Nurse practitioners at Swift Institute work with the physician team to develop customized treatment plans and provide necessary treatment follow-up. NPs complete ongoing continuing education (CE) to stay informed of technological, methodological, and other developments in their field. Nurse practitioners not only serve as healthcare providers to patients but also act as community mentors and educators.
Kimberly obtained a Master of Science in Nursing from Pacific Lutheran University in Washington State. She is nationally certified by the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners. Kimberly is a member of the American Association of Nurse Practitioners and the Nevada Advanced Practice Nurses Association. She is certified in obesity medicine and is a registered nurse first-assist.
At Swift Institute, Kimberly works with the physical medicine physician team and assists with injection therapy. She is also involved in bone health and osteoporosis prevention and treatment.
