Patrick Schafer, MD

Dr. Patrick Schafer joins the Swift Orthopedic team after completing an adult reconstruction fellowship at Houston Methodist Hospital.  He finished an orthopedic surgery residency at Wayne State University / Detroit Medical Center after earning his medical degree at Indiana University. Dr. Schafer completed an undergraduate and master’s degree in exercise science at Ball State University and Appalachian State University, respectively.

Dr. Schafer specializes in joint repair and replacement. He takes a personalized approach to caring for his patients. He believes that the most important aspects of providing quality care are listening to the needs of his patients, discussing treatment options, and establishing a relationship with his patients. “An educated patient will approach the surgery and the postop experience with less apprehension and greater enthusiasm which leads to better outcomes.”
